What if I have allergies?
Please inform your server if you have any allergies, intolerances or dietary requirements we need to be aware of.
Gluten Free
We do offer a menu for gluten intolerant diets which you can view our menu page. Our staff in the Tea Rooms are happy to advise how other dishes on our main menus can be tailored for any special dietary requirements.
Dishes on this menu have been created without gluten-containing ingredients, however there is a possibility that the ingredients could come into contact with small amounts of gluten or wheat either through our suppliers or in our kitchens. Consequently, we cannot guarantee a total absence of wheat or gluten.

Do you have highchairs?
Highchairs are available at each of our Bettys café tearooms for your use as we like to ensure that all our young customers are comfortable during their visit.
Is there disabled access at your branches?
At Bettys Parliament Street Harrogate, Bettys Harlow Carr Harrogate and Bettys Northallerton, the café (or part of the café), shop and toilet are all at pavement level and so are easily accessible. In Bettys York and Ilkley we provide a small access ramp at the front door for wheelchair access.
Please note that the lift at York is currently out of order. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience
Can I bring my dog?
Regrettably we are unable to allow dogs (with the exception of assistance dogs) into our Bettys café tearooms.
Do you sell Afternoon Tea Gift Vouchers?
Not at the moment
How can I order from Bettys?

Why has your company adopted the spellings "Bettys and Taylors" instead of the correct "Betty's and Taylor's"?
Bettys lost its apostrophe around fifty years ago, so the exact explanation is lost in time. It's generally believed that the name was thought to look better without one - more distinctive, less messy - and as a brand name was not subject to the same rules as everyday words. Many trademarks and brand names eschew the rules for similar such reasons, even more so now thanks to the rise of the internet. Taylors has never had an apostrophe as the 's' is a plural to reflect the fact that various family members were involved in the company.
Would you consider opening another branch outside of Yorkshire?
As a traditional family-run business, we pride ourselves on the craft products made at our Harrogate Bakery, which are delivered fresh to each branch on a daily basis
This means all our branches need to be within a reasonable distance of Harrogate. For this reason we are not looking to open another branch anywhere outside of Yorkshire. We aim to keep Bettys small in order to look out for every detail and maintain the best possible quality and consistency.
