Our tea is selected from the highest gardens in the foothills of the Himalayan mountains at the peak of the growing season when the tea is at its best. Only then does the tea have that subtle flavour reminiscent of muscatel grapes. This is the result of a unique combination of cool misty climate, high altitude, rich soil and careful plucking and handling.
Please note: this tea is sourced by our sister company Taylors of Harrogate, and is delivered in Taylors packaging. Taylors joined the Bettys business in the 1960s when it was purchased after an overheard conversation in our Harrogate branch. Since then it has become one of the country's leading tea blenders and coffee roasters.
Our Afternoon Darjeeling is perfect for serving with cakes and pastries in the afternoon. Serve on its own or with milk or lemon.
Making the Perfect Pot of Tea: Use a warmed teapot, add one teaspoon of tea per person and one for the pot and pour on water that's just off the boil. Leave to infuse for 4-5 minutes, enjoy with or without milk
