Treats fit for our Queen

This is a summer like no other, with the sunshine and holidays joined by a very special occasion – the Platinum Jubilee of Elizabeth II. And while the focus is on honouring the Queen's 70 years' service on the British throne, you don't have to open Parliament, entertain world leaders at dinner or become an icon of coordinating hats, handbags and statement brooches to enjoy the celebrations. Whether you're throwing a street party with neighbours, having a garden gathering with family or just want to toast Her Majesty's reign over a majestic teatime spread, our new limited-edition Jubilee collection will add a royally delicious touch.

As part of the collection we've given a few Bettys favourites a regal twist, including our hand-iced Jubilee Fondant Fancies and elegantly shimmering Jubilee Champagne Macaroons. If you can't arrange loan of the Crown Jewels, our rich, sherry-infused and beautifully iced Jubilee Soft Iced Cake makes a marvellous centrepiece for your party table.

Our craft bakers pay tribute to the Queen's most faithful companions with the Lebkuchen Royal Corgi Biscuit, ready to charm both young and old as a table favour or goodbye gift. Meanwhile, our Jubilee Chocolate Box, Jubilee Gift Box and keepsake Jubilee Loose Tea Caddy all make memorable presents to send, or to bring as thanks for a generous host.

When creating the look of our Jubilee collection, we took inspiration from another royal occasion more than a century before: Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee of 1887. A commemorative twopence postage stamp caught the eye of Bettys designer Alex Meek, who adapted its decorative foliage and geometric borders and combined them with gold flourishes from a menu in our own archive. The original stamp's green hue makes a handsome combination with the Bettys palette of burgundy, gold and cream, while a crown motif echoes the design of our Crown Butter Biscuit. But we're afraid that not even writing 'Elizabeth R' on the order form will get you those through the post – they're so exclusive that you'll need to visit our Café Tea Rooms and shops to taste them.
