Considered by many to be the ‘Champagne of tea’, our Afternoon Darjeeling has a delicately sweet, subtly floral flavour that pairs extremely well with all sorts of sandwiches and sweet treats. Made from prized ‘second flush’ leaves, handpicked in the foothills of the Himalayas, Darjeeling is a relatively slow growing tea, which allows it to develop its sought-after characteristics said to be reminiscent of a muscat dessert wine.

Its smooth, gentle tannins and delicate flavour mean that it can be somewhat overwhelmed by milk, and so the experts at our sister company, Taylors of Harrogate, recommend that you brew for 2-3 minutes and savour it black, though you might add a slice of lemon if you wish.

Really rather refined and our go-to for Afternoon Tea, though very much at home with our Almond & Raspberry Cake or a generously buttered Fat Rascal, crumbs and all.
