Our new Spring & Summer Menu: a fiesta of fresh ingredients

As flowers cautiously unfurl and the sun threatens to become more than a half-remembered rumour, our inventive chefs have been busy cooking up new seasonal dishes to add to our Café Tea Rooms menus. Think of it as a kind of spring clean for your tastebuds, a fiesta of fresh ingredients to awaken the senses and drive away the last of the winter cobwebs.

Top of the list is our new roasted red pepper frittata, a vegetarian dish as flavoursome and sustaining as it’s colourful. Packed with delicious charred red peppers, sautéed new potatoes, sun-blushed tomatoes, red onion, fresh basil and chives, it’s cooked in the pan like an omelette then grilled to a golden finish, before being served with peppery rocket and piquant balsamic dressing.

Our chefs haven’t been slumbering on the sandwich front either. Our new Smoked Salmon & Avocado Open Sandwich (pictured above) brings that unbeatable combination to the fore, with plump slices of Scottish salmon, smoked locally for us by Bleikers, paired with creamy diced avocado in a fresh lemon dressing, with dressed leaves and dainty cucumber crescents on wholemeal bread from our Craft Bakery.

If you’re still struggling to shake off that winter feeling, make a breakfast date with Bettys and kick-start your day with everything from continental specialities to an English breakfast fit for a king. As an alternative to orange juice that’s just as refreshing, try our new Strawberry & Apple Yoghurt Drink, a perfectly balanced blend of naturally sweet and tangy strawberry purée and apple juice with rich, Greek-style yoghurt. We reckon even the clocks going forward – sorry to remind you – won’t stop this from helping you face mornings with a spring in your step.
