Trees For Life
Trees are our national treasures – and they need our help. Through Bettys Trees for Life, we’re working to keep our woodlands growing into the future.
We’ve planted thousands of trees in our beautiful Yorkshire countryside and we’re passionate about celebrating and caring for our precious woodlands.
We want to make a difference in the communities around us, so we run projects such as Seedlings at Schools. With help from the environmental regeneration charity, Groundwork, we work with children in Yorkshire schools to nurture seeds gathered from native British species and plant 3,000 trees locally in the first year.
We’ve also paired up with Hagge Woods Trust to support a 25-acre woodland near York that provides a haven for nature and biodiversity. And further afield, we’re continuing our involvement with projects that champion sustainable cocoa growing and rainforest protection.

See what kinds of things we get up to when planting and protecting trees.
In Autumn 2015, colleagues from Bettys donned their wellies and headed to RHS Harlow Carr to plant saplings in our Trees for Life Wood.
Have you ever built a den in the woods? It’s enormous fun, as we found out when we joined pupils from Ashlands Primary School in Ilkley for a lesson with a difference.
