The Baker, The Confectioner & The Master Chocolatier
Although we are synonymous with the warmth and generosity of the Fat Rascal, our founding principles are the continental disciplines of the patissier, the confectioner and the chocolatier – with all the precision, dedication and rigour they entail.
It is in fact those precise skills that still govern Craft Bakery today, and make our Fat Rascals so uniquely Bettys; each one a lesson in buttery perfection; hand-decorated with love and baked with attentive precision.


The Bakery Room
The home of perfectly layered croissants and boozy Christmas cakes, fresh-and-dainty continental pastries and authentically artisan bread. Whether something is supposed to be crisp, rich, buttery or crumbly, it all starts in the Bakery Room, with lashings of real butter (for it must always be real butter!) and an amazing team – unmatched in skill or heart.
The Confectionery Room
While our bakers ‘build the house’, our confectioners make it a home – and what a joyful home it is! Here you’ll find us hand-decorating, generously filling and meticulously layering, ensuring that every fondant fancy is granted a layer of tempting marzipan and a perfectly piped motif. Our cake decorators – the ‘fine art’ department of Bettys – are responsible for each petals, parcel and baby’s rattle, all painstakingly crafted by hand.


The Chocolate Room
Four fountains of exquisite Swiss chocolate, flowing over florentines and into bowls of rich ganache, into our signature truffles, salted caramels, outrageous Grande Easter eggs and spooky Halloween ghosts. No warm hands, no fingerprints, no mistakes – just calm concentration, decades of knowhow, the highest calibre Swiss chocolate (and pristine white gloves where needed).
